YouTube Title Tester: A/B Test Your Titles
Paste two to five titles for the same video and see which one is most likely to earn the click, with odds for each and a preview of how it looks on a phone.
How it works
- 01Write two to five titles for the same video, and optionally say who it's for.
- 02The titles and audience are sent to Jev, TypeSafe's System One model. It answers which title that viewer is most likely to click, with a probability for each, asked twice in opposite orders so the first title gets no edge.
- 03In the same request, each title is scored on its own for clarity (do I know what I get?) and curiosity (do I want to find out?).
- 04You see the winner in a YouTube-style card, cut where phones cut it, plus the model, tokens and cost of the run.
Questions
How do I A/B test YouTube titles before uploading?
Write a few versions of the title and run them here to see which one a viewer is most likely to click and why. Once a video is live, YouTube Studio's Test & Compare can split real traffic between versions. Use this first, so the versions you test on real impressions are already strong.
What makes a YouTube title get more clicks?
Titles that win usually make the payoff clear and leave one specific question open: a number, a contrast, a surprising result. Vague titles lose on clarity, and plain labels like "Product review 2026" lose on curiosity. The two scores under each title show which side it's weak on.
How long should a YouTube title be?
YouTube allows 100 characters, but phones usually cut titles around 60, and search results can cut them sooner. Put the words that earn the click in the first 50 to 60 characters. The counter on each title turns amber when it runs past that.
What does the click share percentage mean?
It's Jev's probability that each title is the one your viewer picks among the ones you entered. It's a relative comparison, not a click-through rate prediction, so 80% means "clearly the strongest of these", not 80% CTR.
Does the audience field change the result?
Yes. A title that works for beginners can lose to a more technical one for experts. Describe the viewer in a few words, like "beginner podcasters on a tight budget", and the pick is made for them.
Is this YouTube title tester free?
Yes, with no signup. Each run costs a fraction of a cent in model fees, which is printed under the result, and repeat runs of the same titles are cached and free.
