Giveaway Comment Picker

Paste your giveaway comments, set the entry rules, and draw a fair random winner. Duplicates, repeat entries and emoji-only comments are filtered out first, and Jev can catch the bots.

One comment per line. "username: comment" lets us spot repeat entries.

Rules

How it works

  1. 01Paste comments, one per line, as "username: comment", or copy them straight from Instagram or YouTube.
  2. 02Set your rules: one entry per user, a minimum number of tagged friends, a required keyword. Optionally let Jev filter bots and spam.
  3. 03Draw. Winners and alternates come from your browser's cryptographic random generator, and every eligible comment has the same chance.
  4. 04Copy the draw summary, with the counts, filters, time and a fingerprint of the eligible list, and post it with your announcement.

Questions

How do I pick a random Instagram comment winner fairly?

Copy the comments from the post, paste them here, and set your rules (one entry per user, a minimum number of tagged friends) before you draw. The draw uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator, so every eligible comment has exactly the same chance. Copy the draw summary and post it with your announcement so entrants can see what was filtered and when it ran.

How do I copy all the comments from an Instagram or YouTube post?

On desktop, open the post, expand all the comments and replies, then select the comment section and copy it. Paste it straight in: the picker recognises the username-then-comment layout and skips timestamps, like counts and Reply buttons. For very large posts, an export tool that gives you a CSV or one comment per line works too.

Is this comment picker really random?

Yes. Winners come from crypto.getRandomValues, the same source browsers use for encryption keys, with rejection sampling so no comment is favoured by rounding. Winners and alternates are drawn together without repeats. The shuffling names on screen are only an animation; the result is fixed before it starts.

How do I filter out bot and spam comments from a giveaway?

Turn on Filter bots with Jev. Each remaining comment is judged on whether it's a real entry or spam, a bot, a scam or self-promotion, like "DM me for profits" or "check my page for followers". Anything judged less than 50% likely to be genuine is excluded, and you can see every excluded comment with its score.

Should I allow multiple entries per person?

Most giveaways count one entry per person, which stops people who spam the comments from crowding out everyone else. If your rules say each comment with new tags is an extra entry, turn off One entry per user. Either way, state the rule in your post before the draw.

Why pick alternates?

Winners don't always reply, and some turn out to break the rules (a private account, a fake profile, not following). Alternates are drawn in the same fair draw, in order, so if winner one doesn't claim the prize you go to alternate one without a second, disputable draw.

Is my data stored?

The paste, filters and draw run in your browser. If you turn on the Jev bot filter, the comment text is sent to our server and Jev to be judged, and the scores are cached so the same list costs nothing to check again. Nothing is posted anywhere or tied to your account.
